2011 Reserve de Ch Louis

The outstanding second wine, the 2011 La Reserve de Louis, offers rich, concentrated, barbecue smoke, cassis, licorice and macerated jammy cherry notes. This is a medium to full-bodied, fleshy wine with lots of flavor as well as hedonistic appeal, texture and opulence. Drink it over the next decade. These wines have gone from strength to strength since being made by the owners of my favorite French bistro, l’Ami Louis. Previously known as Rol Fombrauge, Chateau Louis made two cuvees.
