Note di degustazione
Bright red-ruby. Knockout nose combines black raspberry, dried flowers and spices, crushed stone and smoky minerality. Densely packed and wonderfully spicy, with its serious mid-palate volume leavened by wild herb and pepper notes. Much more showy today than the Clos Vougeot. This boasts terrific mid-palate stuffing for a 2008. Finishes with mounting length and lovely subtle perfume.

60- to 65-year-old vines. Very dark. Very heady and voluptuous. There’s a real energy here and at last the terroir is starting to dominate the flamboyant Bernstein style. A little fizzy on the end. Really rich and juicy and burgundian. Vineyard, not cellar here. This one is doing stretches not fancy gymnastics. Very long indeed. (JR)
