Note di degustazione
Good deep medium red. Ripe, perfumed aromas of red cherry, flowers, mocha and underbrush. Sweet, ripe and solidly structured, but without quite the mid-palate sweetness of the Charmes. I initially found a slight dry spot in the middle palate and a rather tough finish, but with aeration this very young wine showed considerably more sappiness and pliancy of texture. Finishes with a late burst of red cherry. This, too, needs a good five or six years.

(a combination of 40- and 12-year-old vines) Deep red. Wild red berries, plum and mocha on the nose, with a minty, medicinal aspect. Fat, dense and broad, but not as filled in or deep as the Faconnieres. Expressive flavors of red fruits, mocha, menthol and underbrush. Finishes with big but reasonably sweet tannins and lingering notes of fresh herbs and bitter chocolate. A rather cool, moderately ripe Clos de la Roche in the context of the vintage.
