Punteggio 95-97/100 · Da bere 2020-2030, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, Dec 2011

The 2010 Clos de la Roche opens with intriguing, exotic scents of tar, smoke, incense and licorice. The wine virtually explodes on the palate with a pure expression of fruit and intense minerality. Layers of flavor continue to build in all dimensions all the way through to the huge, dramatic finish. This is a dazzling effort, and quite possibly the very finest wine I have ever tasted from David Duband. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. I was thrilled with the wines I tasted with David Duband. The 2010s are fabulous. They show the weight, energy and transparency of the vintage. Of the 2010s, only the Morey St. Denis Clos Sorbe was too reduced to read. I also tasted a number of the 2009 grand crus, all of which have captured the potential I sensed when I tasted them from barrel. I will report on those wines in the April issue. As a reminder, many of Duband's vineyards are farmed in metayage with Francois Feuillet. Readers may find those wines under either the Domaine David Duband or Domaine Francois Feuillet labels. Various American importers, including: Skurnik Wines, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300, Chelsea Ventures, Chicago, IL; tel. (847) 881-2699, The Source, San Francisco, CA.
