From a tiny garagiste estate of impeccably high quality, this wine is a resounding success for the vintage. Dark plum/ruby/purple with a nose of espresso roast, cassis, cherry jam, and chocolate, this full-bodied wine is lavishly rich (atypically so for a 2004), low in acidity, and very intense in fruit. The opulent texture only adds to the wine’s compelling allure. Drink it over the next 12-13 years.
Rather sophisticated. Both fruit and top quality oak well integrated. Lots of fruit on the front palate. Neat tannins. An attractive toastiness. (JR)
