The 1980 Brane-Cantenac was picked October 13–27, which is one of the latest harvests on record. Like the 1981, the bouquet is clinging on for its life, but not totally disagreeable, offering scents of warm bricks and autumn leaves. Just don’t expect gobs of fruit. The palate is light-bodied with dry tannin, hollow and very fatigued and thin toward the dilute finish. This is of curiosity value only. Tasted at the Brane-Cantenac vertical at the château .
