Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2026-2030, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2026

Garnet-hued with considerable amber and orange, the 1975 Château Brane-Cantenac is clearly fully mature yet still has solid density and depth, with largely resolved tannins. Rich, opulent, and thick, it offers a beautiful core of sweet fruit and shows the vintage's more foursquare yet ripe style. It's a pleasurable effort that's not going to get better but isn't going to fall off a cliff either. Drink 2026-2030.

Punteggio 83/100 · Da bere 2018-2021, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 1975 Brane-Cantenac has a light nose of cedar, antique bureau and just a faint hint of dried orange peel. What it lacks is fruit, which probably exited a long time ago. The palate is balanced but lacks depth; this bottle is not as good as the one I drank in 2013, attenuating toward a rather austere finish that is lacking energy. Drink sooner rather than later. Tasted at the Brane-Cantenac vertical at the château .

The fully mature 1975 Brane-Cantenac has a generous, earthy, spicy, leathery, mushroom-like bouquet, sweet, relatively soft, fruity flavors, medium body, and adequate length. Anticipated maturity: Now-probably in serious decline. Last tasted, 11/87.
