Note di degustazione
The 1964 Brane-Cantenac has a mature and fungal bouquet with light red fruit. Sour cherry touches struggle against the tertiary/dusty scents. It's quite ferrous in style. The palate is medium-bodied, which is actually better than the aromatics. It is nicely balanced and fresh, with a tang of bitter cherry mixed with black pepper and tobacco, though it is short on the finish. Perfect provenance plays a key here, so I would only consider this vintage from larger formats. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at the Académie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux.

Informazioni sul produttore

Château Brane-Cantenac has been a consistent performer in the Margaux wine appellation since Henri Lurton took over the property, but thanks to replanting and investment in the last decade, quality has seen another sharp upswing.
