This wine from a famous vintage was probably stunning a decade ago but is starting to dry out. Amazingly deep crimson still. Sweet and fragrant, almost floral and then acidity makes its presence felt. Rich, liquorice flavour and even a hint of brown sugar. It must have been stunning but age is beginning to take its toll. Ch. Montrose is one of two Second Growths from Saint-Estèphe and one of the most consistent producers in Bordeaux. The wines from this property are both elegant and powerful, and some of the Médoc's most age-worthy .
