Quite deep crimson. Practically no nose. Very easy, soft, and ready, and then lots of acidity. Not one of Monbrison’s more dramatic efforts. (JR)

A wine of finesse and style, with sweet and sour red cherries as well as lively acidity, this Burgundian-like 2002 is attractive and cleanly made, but generally uninspiring. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2010
Deep crimson. Tired, rather stewed nose. Very sweet start and then relatively lightweight and not that tannic. Acidity there though. Only the indistinct nose stops me giving this vivacious wine a higher mark. (JR)
Medium ruby. Medicinal black cherry, blueberry, mint and violet aromas. Juicy, firm-edged and primary, with a flavor of cassis. Still tightly wound and rather austere, but shows good ripeness and fruit intensity. Finishes with gripping tannins.
