Note di degustazione
Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2007 Bordeaux tasting. The 2007 Phelan-Segur has an outgoing fleshy red cherry, beef stock and leather-scented bouquet that shows just a touch of brettanomyces. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy, lightly spiced red berry fruit on the entry, even a slight touch of chili towards the structured, foursquare finish.

Relatively evolved on the nose. Not that substantial on the palate but already reasonably charming. And informed by a light St-Estèphe influence. (JR)
Lightish crimson. Not quite pure on the nose. But smooth and silky and rather unusual for a 2007. Was it heavily fined? It does easy duty as an early-drinking 2007 anyway even if it does not speak very strongly of St-Estèphe. (JR)
Bright red-ruby. Sexy aromas of cherry and flowers. Primary and nicely perfumed in the mouth, with a grapey quality to the cherry and raspberry fruit flavors. But ultimately rather light and slightly green-edged, with modest mid-palate stuffing to support its fairly dry tannins.
