Note di degustazione
The 2002 Sigalas Rabaud offers pear, peach skin and orange pith scents on the nose, showing moderate intensity and missing a little complexity. The palate is fresh on the entry with orange rind and mandarin notes, not deep and maybe lacking rondeur, yet precise on the finish. Drink now. Tasted at the Sigalas Rabaud vertical at the winery.

Space limitations preclude including tasting notes. 2002 was an average vintage.
Pale yellow. Exotic aromas of mirabelle, vineyard peach and honey, plus a piquant hint of curry powder. A concentrated, juicy, complex midweight, with vibrant flavors of peach, orange juice and spices. Very stylish 2002 Sauternes, with strong fruit and a lingering, pure aftertaste.
Copper. Big, bold, sweet and oily but not necessarily very botrytised. Very good, opulent winemaking with top-quality barrels and selection but I sense more dried than botrytised grapes here. Slightly grainy finish, definitely chewy. Good effort given the raw ingredients but not classic. Lots of acidity, but the acidity is divorced from the fruit. (JR)
