Punteggio 85/100 · Da bere 2020-2021, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Apr 2020

The 1997 Rauzan-Ségla is a blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot. Deep brick colored, it provides evolved notes of dusty soil, sandalwood, cigar box and leather with a touch of mincemeat pie. Fading on the medium-bodied palate, there are some lingering remnants of dried black fruits with chewy tannins and some baking spice hints, but not much of a finish here. This one's definitely on the downward swing now.

The medium ruby-colored 1997 Rauzan-Ségla has seen better days and offers a solid kick of green in its red and black fruits, cedar, and earthy aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, with bright acidity, it still has charm, but it certainly isn’t the shining star in the lineup.

A very pretty and aromatic wine, with spices, berries and violets. Medium-bodied with medium, fine tannins and a polished finish. Best after 2000. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2000

This herbaceous, medium-bodied, light effort possesses a dark ruby color, attractive berry fruit, and a pleasant earthy, floral bouquet. However, there is little length as well as a compressed feeling to the wine's personality. Wine Advocate.April, 2000
