Note di degustazione
The 2011 Bourgneuf has a tightly-wound bouquet with blackberry, briary, sous-bois and cigar box aromas that gradually unfold. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine acidity, more cohesion and substance than its peers with fine balance on the finish. This is drinking perfectly now. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting.

Tasted blind. Blackish crimson with a pale rim. Aromatic. Juicy even! This has a bit of a pinch of tannin on the end but has triumphed over the vintage. Just a bit drying on the end. Fine with food. (JR)
The charmless 2011 Bourgneuf displays hints of wet dog, aged beef, plum sauce, black currants and cherries. While adequate, it lacks finesse and appeal. Drink it over the next decade.
Dark cherry colour. More intensity on the nose than any in the line up so far. Sweet oak and bright, pure fruit with a light earthy note adding a savoury dimension. Same earthy dry quality on the palate with a light leafiness on the finish. Powder-fine tannins and lovely restraint. (JH)
