Note di degustazione
Soft tawny ruby in colour, sweet strawberry and raspberry puree, a little soft on the finish, this is enjoyable, very much in its drinking window, majoring on tobacco and earth. I would suggest opening up if you have bottles, it is delicious and juicy but is at a good time to enjoy.

Good medium, bright red. Restrained aromas of medicinal cherry, leather and licorice. Sweet and fairly deep, with brooding, slightly coarse flavors of dark raspberry and blueberry. Finishes with dusty, broad tannins and a slight greenness.
As I have said before, this is a wine for those with 19th century tastes. However, the rustic tannins and overwhelming earthiness seem to have taken over the fruit now that it is in bottle. Decidedly inferior to what barrel samples revealed, this wine exhibits a dark plum color as well as distinctive, loamy, forest floor, truffle, and new saddle leather notes interwoven with notions of plums and black currants. Medium-bodied and austere, harsh tannins and a streak of herbaceousness run through the flavors. It should last for 15 or more years, but I worry about the tannins always being intrusive.
