Note di degustazione
The 1987 Léoville-Poyferré is just about holding in there: simple and monotonous on the earthy nose, the palate offers better weight than you would expected with a ferrous finish. However, this wine is going nowhere, so best drink bottles sooner rather than later. Tasted at the vertical tasting with Didier Cuvelier in 2009.

Magnum . A bit green and woody on the nose, reflected on the palate. Refined but drying. (JH)
Thin, weedy, angular, and tough textured, the 1987 is not a success. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 11/90.

Informazioni sul produttore

Ch. Léoville-Poyferré is a Second Growth Saint-Julien property that was once part of the same estate as Ch. Léoville Barton and Ch. Léoville Las Cases. It has the most complex and varied soils of the three and produces the most voluptuous, seductive style of wine.
