Note di degustazione
The 1964 Léoville-Poyferré defies form - the rare instance of a decent Left Bank wine from this Right Bank vintage. It has a simple, black plum, quite ferrous nose, whilst the palate is initially lacking cohesion but seems to cohere in the glass, fading perhaps prematurely on the finish. Maybe I just got lucky with this bottle, but maybe a Saint-Julien that should not be dismissed out of hand.

Still plenty of sweet fruit. Silky, fresh and very fluid. Perfect balance, just slips across the palate and lingers. (JH)
Informazioni sul produttore

Ch. Léoville-Poyferré is a Second Growth Saint-Julien property that was once part of the same estate as Ch. Léoville Barton and Ch. Léoville Las Cases. It has the most complex and varied soils of the three and produces the most voluptuous, seductive style of wine.
