This blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot is a soft, round, medium to full-bodied wine with lots of earthy black cherry and black currant fruit as well as some background oak and earth undertones. The wine has pleasant, soft tannins and is ideal for drinking over the next 7-8 years.

These two Labégorce properties are to be kept separate after all they have now decided apparently – despite now having the same owner. Very dry finish. Very hard work indeed! (JR)
Heavy crimson. Sweet berry aromas but no great intensity. Acidity and greenness are the dominant characteristics. Very skinny and dry – hollow. Note that Labégorce Zédé has been absorbed back into the main estate now. (JR)
Pretty plummy. Currant aromas follow through to a full-bodied palate, with chewy tannins and a long persistent finish. Structured. Very well done from this estate. Score range: 89-91. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2007

Historically Château Labégorce was one of the largest estates in the Médoc. It was originally owned by the Grosse family (or Gorce – hence the name) whose ownership dates back to the 14th century.
