Full-bodied, deep and seamless, it's impeccably balanced, with immense concentration without weight, racy acids and a long, perfumed finish. This magical Barsac will see out a century in style.

Lovely wine at its peak. Lots of impact. Very sweet with strong hints of orange peel, marzipan and lemons. Big and sweet while being clean and fresh. Edge of mahogany in both colour and, somehow, flavour. Very impressive indeed. Another wine with an amazingly long drinking window. 19 Jun 2004 (JR)

Château Climens is one of Sauternes-Barsac’s leading producers of sweet wine. Classified as a Premier Cru or First Growth in 1855 it sits alongside just 10 other Premier Cru estates in Sauternes, only bettered by Ch. d’Yquem, which was granted its own elite classification of Premier Cru Supérieur.
