Slightly dull rim. A bit green and austere. Tough tannins. Very chunky. Some reasonable fruit weight in the mid palate but not fresh at all. (JR)

Icy, deep ruby/purple-colored, with notes of espresso, chocolate, and black fruits, this medium-bodied wine shows good texture, elegance, and impressive purity. The low acidity and ripe tannins suggest drinking it over the next 10 years.
Thick and dense. Lively. Very good balance. Intense. Lots of tannin. (JR)
(a 50/50 blend of cabernet franc and merlot, from a vineyard located just below Pavie; cropped at just 30 hectoliters per hectare, according to winemaker Jean-Luc Thunevin, who then bled off 20% of the juice) Medium bright ruby. Slightly medicinal aromas of black cherry, bitter chocolate, violet and minerals. Lush on entry, then sweet and layered in the middle, with lovely mineral lift. Has thickness and finesse. Tannins reach the teeth. No press wine has been added. An impressive showing.
