Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2013-2018, Robert Parker, Aug 2013

The 2009 Dignus (50% Tempranillo, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon) also exhibits a Pomerol-like perfume of mocha, black cherries, mulberries and cola. There is lots of richness, sweet, well-integrated tannins, full body and a hefty, lush mouthfeel. It should continue to drink beautifully for another 4-5 years. Long time readers of The Wine Advocate are familiar with the selections of Patrick Mata, one of the most driven, passionate and talented young men in the wine world. These are his newest releases, which should be in the marketplace this fall. He continues to expand his business and as the notes that follow indicate, he has now added a burgeoning selection of high quality, distinctive wines from Portugal. His portfolio actually includes three import companies, Ole, Peninsula and Obrigado. For more information on Patrick Mata, see Issue #202 (8-31-12). Punteggio 15/20 · Da bere 2011-2014, Jancis Robinson MW, Jul 2013

Tempranillo, Merlot from the Ribera Baja subregion. The nose shows lots of ripeness and jammy sensations together with black prunes and sweet spices (nutmeg). The palate is slightly warming, with rounded and elevated tannins and a rich presence of fruit. The alcohol dominates the palate. (FC)

(50% tempranillo, 25% merlot and 25% cabernet sauvignon, aged for 12 months in 3-year-old French oak): Bright violet color. Lively and precise on a nose of redcurrant, cherry, anise and dried rose. Juicy and focused, with very good depth and sweetness to its bitter cherry and floral flavors. The long and vibrant finish lingers with gentle tannins and spiciness.
