Note di degustazione
Deep red. Aromas of red cherry, currant, leather, smoke and game; lower-pitched than the Champeaux. Then juicy and tight in the mouth, with rather wild game and mineral flavors framed by surprisingly brisk acidity. Seems to be closing down in the bottle. But finishes with good breadth and substantial tannins. This is likely to need a good seven or eight years of additional cellaring. The 2003 is unlikely to match this for precision.

Dark red. Complex nose melds wild strawberry, red- and blackcurrant, game, leather, spice and smoky oak. Dense and juicy, with bright acids and pronounced spice character adding snap. The game and oak notes carry through in the mouth. Very ripe and very long, finishing with sweet, mellow tannins. More persistent than the Champeaux, and built to age.
