A lackluster terroir that normally produces relatively neutral and hard-edged wines, the 2009 Taillefer is probably the best wine they have ever made. Dense ruby/purple with notes of mocha, black cherries, licorice and a bit of tobacco leaf, this fleshy, medium-bodied red is best drunk over the next decade.
