Note di degustazione
The 2011 Le Gay was tasted from two bottles as the first was corked. The second has a ripe mulberry nose, a little Grenache-like, clean and well defined if just missing a little energy. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, quite tight and conservative, good acidity but very linear and missing some charm on the finish. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting.

Tasted blind. First bottle TCA. Second bottle. Sweet and lively on the nose. Fresh and vigorous but without massive subtlety. Not too tannic – just a bit dusty – but it hasn’t (yet?) developed essentially attractive qualities. (JR)
Black cherry. Dark and savoury and restrained on the nose. A little dusty. Silky texture but a little flat/bitter on the finish. Rather abrupt at the end. (JH)
Informazioni sul produttore

There’s been lots of change at Ch. le Gay since the Parent family arrived in 2002 – with vineyards replanted, the cellars renovated and the winemaking adjusted. No surprise, perhaps, that quality is now higher than ever.
