Straightforward crimson. Sweet, tarry and simple. Some juicy fruit in the middle but no grace. Sturdy and rustic. Stick in the mud... (JR)

This dense ruby/purple-colored wine is one of the most successful wines of the vintage for this appellation. With a firmly structured personality and deep, sweet plum, fig, black cherry, and kirsch notes with some cassis in the background, this is a generously endowed, moderately tannic wine that should be at its best between 2010 and 2020.
Very healthy crimson. Lively, sweet, smooth rich wine with considerable impact though an awful lot of oak. (JR)

There’s been lots of change at Ch. le Gay since the Parent family arrived in 2002 – with vineyards replanted, the cellars renovated and the winemaking adjusted. No surprise, perhaps, that quality is now higher than ever.
