The 2010 Chambolle-Musigny(from tank) is big, fat, rich and implosive, yet never loses its sense of place. Layers of perfumed dark red fruit flesh out on the radiant finish. This is a serious, structured village-level Chambolle. This is mostly fruit from Bussières.

Romain Taupenot lost between 25-40% of his 2010 production to the poor weather, although some of his lower lying parcels were down as much as 80%. Fortunately the Grand Crus were down only 15% on average. The harvest began on September 23. Taupenot reported that the fruit required some sorting in the winery. Quite fresh and pretty on the nose. Very precise and finely chiselled. Great pure fruit. Perhaps not that subtle but very impressive. Long. Reverberant. (JR)
This is quite ripe yet remains both elegant and attractively fresh while displaying aromas of violet, cassis and red berry fruit liqueur. The mineral-inflected medium weight flavors are classic Chambolle and extremely fine as the supported tannins are perfectly integrated with the balanced and tension-filled finish. This is really lovely. Allen Meadows, Burghound.com
