Punteggio 85/100 · Robert Parker
Given this vineyard's terroir, the 1996 La Fleur de Gay is a light, disappointing effort. Its nose of new oak, dried herbs, and red fruits is followed by an elegant, compressed wine that is correctly made, but uninspiring. There is dry, astringent tannin in the finish. I do not believe this wine will soften and fatten up, so consume it over the next 7-8 years. Apr 1999, www.robertparker.com
