Red-ruby. Roasted meat, currant and leather on the nose. Soft and approachable, but offers little depth or fat in the middle. Finishes with an edge of acidity and drying tannins. Clearly affected by the heat.
While not terribly exciting, the 2003 Petit-Village is easy-going, pliable, consumable, soft, and pleasant. This superficial, medium-bodied claret is best consumed over the next 5-6 years.
Mid-ruby. Indistinct nose. Sweet and simple on the front of the palate. A bit formless with quite chewy, green tannins. A bit inky and ungracious. (JR)
