Note di degustazione
Deep red-ruby. Perfumed aromas of dark berries, black cherry and flowers, with a lively mineral component. Dense, lush and fine-grained, and yet the wine's strong minerality gives it exceptional clarity and cut. Very long, classy and sweet on the aftertaste. Jayer's holding is from the original heart of this vineyard, which was greatly expanded in 1936.

Sporting a nose of spicy, tobacco-laced red fruits, the 2002 Echezeaux du Dessus displays a softly textured, medium-bodied core of cherries, raspberries, flowers, and earth. This wine’s gorgeously expressive personality displays exceptional depth, focus, and length. The Jayers, both Gilles and his retired father Robert, have produced more massive, concentrated Echezeauxs but this is the most elegant, feminine, and graceful I’ve tasted from this estate. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2016. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
(malo finished in September and sulfited) Bright ruby-red. Wonderfully aromatic nose melds blackberry, cassis, violet, minerals and flowers. A wine of compelling density and sweetness, but with superb inner-mouth energy. Intense, tangy fruit and mineral flavors show terrific definition and verve. Sappy and highly concentrated grand cru with superb but not excessive ripeness. Finishes with very fine tannins and excellent lift.
