Note di degustazione
Bought by Rouzaud in June 1995. Quite a bit of Merlot in this wine, very similar deep crimson with a brownish, rusty rim to the 1996. Rather tired nose. Past its best with sweet, stewed fruit. (JR)

The new owners, the Roederer Champagne firm, have obtained more richness, fruit, and concentration in this northern Medoc cru bourgeois estate. The 1995 possesses excellent color, a sweet, jammy, blackcurrant aroma, a monolithic but well-proportioned and concentrated feel on the palate, low acidity, and mature tannin in the finish. This tasty, mouthfilling St.-Estephe should drink well when released and last for a decade. Note: the 1994 has not been tasted. All of the wines in this segment were tasted between March 19 and March 28 in Bordeaux. Most of the important wines from both the 1994 and 1995 vintages were tasted three separate times during my ten-day stay in Bordeaux.
