Note di degustazione
Fully mature and drinking at point, the 2007 reveals a vivid ruby hue as well as a complex perfume of currant buds, cedarwood, tobacco, and truffly earth, with plenty of green and herbal undercurrents. Medium-bodied and elegant on the palate, it's a more ethereal, nuanced wine compared to more powerful recent vintages yet still has classic Pomerol sexiness and texture. It's not going to get better, but it certainly has another decade of prime drinking and a gradual decline after that.

Bright ruby. Salty, round, not as much density as L'Hospitalet de Gazin 2010 Pomerol but recognisably Trot in a pale register. A bit light and fresh. (JR)
Rather muddy pale crimson. Very evolved! Sort of dried-blood aromas. Hint of cassis actually too. Lots of pleasure and interest already. (JR)

Château Trotanoy was one of the first recognised Premier Cru sites on the Pomerol plateau, with records dating back to the late 1700s. Even back in the nineteenth century it was seen as the best site in Pomerol second only to Vieux Château Certan.
