This 2012 comes across as a well-made, over-achieving wine from this property. Dense ruby/purple, with notes of vanilla, spice box, earth and plenty of blackcurrants, it is medium-bodied, with ripe tannins, in a classic, traditional style. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

Slightly unkempt: chewy tannins and hint of animal character on the nose. Not entirely clean? Certainly very bitter, anyway. (RH)
