Sweet oak and some stink on the nose. Light, underripe fruit with some quite harsh tannins on the finish that may always dominate the light fruit. (JR)

Soft, round, and fruity, with a dark plum/ruby color, this wine possesses hints of herbs, sandalwood, black currants, and licorice. Medium-bodied and round, it is ideal for drinking over the next 6-8 years. In most vintages, it is a blend of slightly more Cabernet Sauvignon than Merlot (56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Merlot).
Pretty impressively dark crimson. Meaty/toasty nose with lots of appeal. Sweet start and very easy. Lots of pleasure. Firm and dense but with lots of flesh too. Quite energetic. This could be a very GV. Good quality oak from the posher properties with which it is associated (Pichon Lalande notably) and some nice ripe fruit (JR)
