1993 Stonewell Shiraz

Saturated ruby-red color. Blackberry liqueur, chocolate, meat and lots of smoky oak on the nose. Gamey raspberry and smoke flavors are quite juicy despite the wine excellent ripeness. Concentrated and supported by strong acids. Finishes with a maturing, mellow note of woodsmoke. Not a particularly harmonious wine; the whole ultimately seems less than the sum of its parts.
