From proprietor Philippe Casteja, this is a relatively dense, masculine, deep ruby/purple-colored Pomerol that is attractive and elegant, but one suspects it could have more to it, particularly given the vintage. Certainly the terroir is one of the more highly regarded in Pomerol, sitting near L’Eglise Clinet and Clinet. Medium to full-bodied, with notes of licorice, plum sauce and black cherries, the wine has silky tannins and very good length. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.
