Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2008-2021, Robert Parker, Jun 2007

Only 50% of the crop was utilized in this 1,415-case blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Elegant, earthy, black cherry, and currant notes are interwoven with notions of smoke and truffles. Possessing excellent texture, ripe fruit, and good body as well as length, if it develops more complexity, it may merit an outstanding score with additional time in the bottle. It should evolve for 15 or more years. Pomerol enthusiasts need to keep a watch for this estate as it is beginning to produce superlative wines.

Dark red. Wild plum, cherry, mocha, leather and game on the nose. Boasts sweet fruit even if the wine is less plush and deep than the 2005. Some sauvage notes of game, earth and leather contribute personality.

Saturated ruby. Superripe aromas of kirsch, licorice and dark chocolate. Sweet and supple in the mouth, with kirsch and chocolate flavors lifted by a spicy element. Finishes ripely tannic and persistent.

Punteggio 16.5/20 · Da bere 2008-2016, Jancis Robinson MW, Apr 2005

Attractive, fresh, toasty nose. Lots of fruit on the mid palate. Well melded ripe tannins. Quite alcoholic. Unusually ripe for the vintage. Should give pleasure, though not a long term bet. A particularly good vintage for this property. (JR)
