Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2020-2026, Jeb Dunnuck, Nov 2020

Revealing a mature yet still healthy gold hue, the 2009 Château Latour-Martillac Blanc is a rich, full-bodied beauty offering lots of honeyed melon, caramelized peach, brioche, and toasty, creamy notes to go with a layered, opulent style on the palate that stays fresh and lively. This is a smoking good white that has aged beautifully. The acidity is there, but this is all about texture. Enjoy bottles any time over the coming 4-6 years or so.

Absolutely stunning wine and a sleeper of the vintage for this particular producer, this wine displays loads of waxy, melony, exotic fruits as well as hints of figs, orange and apricot marmalade and some subtle oak in the background. With very good acidity and a lusty, rich, full-bodied mouthfeel, it should continue to drink well over the next 20+ years.
