Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2012-2025, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2022

Full bottle 1,346 g. At the 2016 vertical of Coche Rougeots, Jean-François said 2006 had the same weather and style of maturity as 1986, and said then that 2006 was 'the vintage to drink now in both reds and whites'. Very tight, taut, high-acid nose and then lots more breadth and fruit on the palate than usual for a Coche-Dury wine. Lime and evolution and almost generosity on the finish! This is definitely mature. The next day this really rounded out and was amazingly long. (JR)

The 2006 Meursault Les Rougeots has a thrilling bouquet with a ton of reduction, yet somehow there is marvellous delineation and penetration. The palate is powerful, spicy and dense with a waxy mouthfeel and impressive density. It feels tangy in the mouth and yet it does not convey the same detail as the 1999 tasted alongside, on the finish. Still, this is a fine Meursault considering the vintage. Tasted at La Paulée in Beaune.

Same weather and style of maturity as 1986, says Jean-François. He says 2006 is the vintage to drink now in both reds and whites. Bright dark gold. Very rich and developed on the nose – very sumptuous with quite a bit of matchstick. Rich and lots of savour and bright fruit. Masses of evolution and satisfaction. A certain richness and creaminess. Very satisfying now. Very rewarding. The oldest on the nose of the 2006-2010 range. Something a little bit beery about this! And then starting to dry just a little on the end. Very interesting. (JR)
