Note di degustazione
(15% alcohol): Saturated bright ruby. Sexy, very ripe, high-toned aromas of blackberry, plum, licorice, tobacco and hot rocks. Like liquid velvet on the palate--hugely rich and deep, superripe but not roasted or tired. No rough edges here! Conveys a strong impression of Rutherford dust. The outstanding, slowly building finish indicates that there's more to come; I'd hate to have drunk up my stock of this wine several years ago. Very long and still a bit youthfully warm. Superb.

A staggeringly great wine from this iconic property in Rutherford, Scarecrow’s 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) boasts a dense ruby/purple color, a deep, rich, full-bodied style with perfect balance/equilibrium, stunning purity, lots of creme de cassis, minerality and floral notes, a persistent finish, and a staggering personality that is a sign of singularity as well as greatness. The finesse of the tannins is fabulous. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. Tel. (707) 963-3361

Scarecrow shot to fame with its debut 2003 vintage. The wine, named after the The Wizard of Oz character, is made exclusively from grapes from the J. J. Cohn vineyard in Napa’s Rutherford. Scarecrow is owned by Bret Lopez (J. J. Cohn’s grandson) and is very much a rarity in Napa.
