2007 Grands Echezeaux

(done with whole clusters, but not vinified by Potel) Good medium red. Knockout nose combines red fruits, musky earth, minerals and faded rose. Wonderfully vibrant and gripping wine, with superb definition and inner-mouth energy. The red fruit and mineral flavors are complemented by spice, pepper and herbal notes from the stems, which give the very long finish an ineffable rising perfume. Very well-judged extraction here.
