1996 Nuits St Georges Les Vaucrains

Saturated, deep ruby-red. Reticent but sappy aromas of dark berries and mint. Chewy, dense and very unevolved; flavors are extremely primary and pristine. Powerful tannic structure gives this wine a youthful austerity. The finish starts slowly, then builds and builds. This is among the finest Nuits-Saint-Georges '96s I've tasted to date. Destined for long life.
