An absolutely textbook great white Graves made from 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon and aged nine months on its lees, this is a prodigious effort displaying notes of white flowers, currants, honeyed citrus, fig, and crushed rocks. The wine is very pure, with full body and high acidity, in a backward, almost tannic style. Give this wine at least 8-10 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 30 years.

(87% sauvignon blanc and 13% semillon) Pale, bright yellow. Exuberant aromas of citrus zest, chlorophyll and mint. Juicy, sappy and fresh, with fruit-driven flavors of lemon, apple, minerals, spices, nut butter and mint. Very intensely flavored and dominated by the sauvignon today. Offers terrific penetration and cut. The sauvignon blanc here was harvested with 14% potential alcohol but unusually high acidity of 5.5 grams per liter, notes Edange. (In ripe years here, the acidity is normally between 3.5 and 4.0 grams.) "Our white wine is usually in a Chevalier-Montrachet style, like the 2005," said Edange. "In 2006 it's more like Corton-Charlemagne, and the wine was very aromatic from the beginning." A good portion of the fruit was picked during hot, dry weather in early September. This should enjoy a very long life in bottle.
