Punteggio 86/100 · Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2014

Tasted blind in a line-up of 2011 Amoureuses in Holland, Roche de Bellene’s 2011 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Amoureuses has one of the palest colors in the flight with more degradation on the rim. The nose is forward and more advanced aromatically, with distinctive sous-bois and tertiary scents, loose-knit red berry fruit, with just a touch of heat coming through with aeration. The palate has a sharp and angular opening with noticeable acidity. Gritty in the mouth, it does not have the opulence of an Amoureuses and feels a little austere and dry on the finish. It suggests underripe fruit trying to be covered up by wood. Tasted June 2014.
