2010 Monbousquet Blanc

Notes of pineapple, honeyed melons and caramelized grapefruits are present in this wine, which seems to have backed off the oak. Very crisp, fresh and lively, it should be drunk over the next 5-6 years. Gerard Perse seems to be moving toward a more restrained style of Monbousquet, and the results are extremely successful.

This wine has a lovely linear profile, pretty aromatics with fresh acidity and a nice lift to the flavours. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris, there is no Semillon in this Bordeaux white. The style is lean, focused filled with bright fruity flavours. Very well made, the only shortcoming of this wine is its moderate rather than long finish. asianpalate.com
