Proprietor Gerard Perse has backed off on the barrel fermentation and wood aging a bit, and the result is a more well-balanced, less over-the-top and exotic style of wine. Fresh melon and green apple notes intermixed with hints of mango and pineapple, zesty acidity and subtle oak all make for a delicious, full-throttle wine. Anticipated maturity: now -2018.

Superlively with green apple and lemon rind character that turns to lime. Medium-bodied, with clean and fresh fruit and a long finish
Tasted at Chateau Pavie. This has a fresh, lively, citrus nose with lime leaf, green apple and a touch of apricot. Good definition. A leesy entry on the palate, good weight, nice sense of umami here, well balanced with touches of guava and dried pineapple towards the finish. Very fine. Tasted March 2010
Stinky paint- like aroma, round texture and quite rich. Not stupendous though fuller and fatter than most dry white bordeaux. Lots of weight. Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com
