Good dark red with a hint of amber. More brooding, fresher nose than the Lytton Springs example, conveying a medicinal menthol reserve to its cool black fruit flavors. Surprisingly sweet and plush in the mouth but also shows more verve than the Lytton Springs, and a more classic vintage character. Finishes very suave and long, with pliant, building tannins and terrific lift. This lovely vibrant Zinfandel is delicious now owing to its flavor intensity and energy but should continue to provide many years of pleasure. 14.4% alcohol.

Showing bright, jammy raspberry fruit, the 2005 Ridge Geyserville has great aromatics, medium body and a nice finish. It’s young and primary but well balanced and delicious.
(77% zinfandel, 17% carignane and 6% petite sirah) Dark red. Seductively perfumed aromas of raspberry, cherry, lavender and minerals lifted by exotic Asian spices. Seems almost light for zinfandel, with a silky texture and deep, sweet red and dark berry flavors. The tannins are nicely folded into the fruit, creeping gently out on the finish. A very impressive blend, with superb balance and flavor definition.
