Note di degustazione
Good full medium red. Very spicy, peppery, herbal nose is carrying a full load of oak too. On the palate, juicy bitter cherry and spice flavors are given a somewhat dry aspect by a strong note of crushed black pepper. Tongue-dusting tannins turned drier and more peppery with aeration. Too much oak (and stems?) here.

Just the right level of stem content giving a herbal lilt but nothing underripe. Tannins have real force on the finish – needs plenty of time. (RH)
(the only one of these 2011s to be vinified without any destemming; 50% new oak; only finished its malolactic fermentation in September): Good bright, dark red with ruby tones. Pungent high-pitched aromas of dark raspberry, licorice, flowers, underbrush and pepper. Dense, spicy and fine-grained, with terrific density of material and stony grip. Extremely primary and backward today, finishing with substantial chewy, slightly drying tannins but terrific aromatic persistence. A lot of potential here.
