Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2016-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2014

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Suchots 2011 is more reserved on the nose than their Chaumées, but there is a touch more complexity, the brambly red and black fruit infused with fine minerality and tension. The palate is smooth and rounded on the entry with a lot of extraction so that it feels plump around the middle. Juicy and pure, what it lacks in complexity is compensated by its saturated tannins and opulent blueberry-tinged finish that is just missing some persistence, cutting away before you have had an opportunity to show your gratitude.

Punteggio 16.5/20 · Da bere 2017-2024, Jancis Robinson MW, Jan 2013

Pale ruby. Strange seaweed nose. Very firm and structured with real Côte de Nuits substance. A tad chewy. Wait! (JR)

An attractively spicy, elegant and admirably pure nose of fresh red pinot fruit, blue berry and a bit of oak gives way to beautifully textured middle weight flavors that also terminate in a finish that displays a mild dryness though here it's less pronounced. I suspect that it is again the abundant gas. Tasted: Jan 14, 2013. Drink: 2018+
