The Broustet 2007 is another Sauternes that has improved considerably since primeur. A very elegant bouquet of white peach, honeysuckle and a touch of pear, well defined and gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is vibrant on the entry, good acidity here, real edginess although it does miss some weight and botrytis towards the edgy, lemon zest, honeyed, barley sugar tinged finish. This is not a complex Sauternes, but well defined and crisp. Drink now-2020.

Rich marmalade nose. Lots of acidity and not much botrytis(!) but lots of fun as a rich sweet wine for early drinking, Sort of pineapple juice.... Fun! (JR)
Bright yellow. Subdued aromas of pineapple syrup, citrus peel and melon offer good lift. Quite sweet and honeyed but a bit aggressive with alcohol. In a fairly penetrating style, with fruit in the background. Finishes with decent length.
Honeyed tinge. Sugary nose – rather indistinct. Hints of burnt toast with lashings of butter. Plus mango. Far from the finest sweet white bordeaux – a little loose on the palate. Rather sugary, simple on the finish. (JR)
