Note di degustazione
Full dark red. Subdued, slightly reduced nose offers dark cherry, menthol, licorice and smoke notes, with a lively violet topnote emerging with aeration. Powerful and primary, and still a bit youthfully reduced, with considerable depth to the dense dark fruit flavors. Savory rather than sweet, finishing with chewy tannins that will require patience.

Bright, dark red-ruby. Wild, slightly reduced aromas of black fruits and flinty minerality. Less sweet and showy today than the Champeaux, but with superb richness and chewy texture to its primary black fruit flavors. This may have more stuffing and power but it's less evolved today and dominated by its structure. Still, the sweetness of the wine is manifest.
Reduction. Very dark. Heady, sweet, attention grabbing, from 80-year-old vines. Black fruit liqueur. Dense. Sinewy. Lots there though with a slightly dry finish. Very distinctive. (JR)
